Ghost Hunting and Paranormal Groups
We are often asked......... 'Is your 700 year old building haunted?' The simple answer is that it 'has character' and a few unusual events have occurred over the years. For this reason, we do get a lot of enquiries from Paranormal Investigation groups wanting to explore Seaton Holme.

SEATON HOLME – Conditions of Hire 2024/25 (Paranormal Groups)
(As from 01 April 2024)
Please note that during 2025 we will only accept one group per month. We will take bookings in advance.
The application form with deposit and completed room hire form to a member of staff at EVPC Parish Office or via email / BACS transfer. Bank details will be supplied on request.

PARANORMAL GROUP FEES – The standard fee for paranormal groups is set at £420 for the use of the whole ground floor, cellar and top corridor for an agreed number of hours from 1800 hrs. Group fees include an element for Staff overtime.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY
Hirers are to note that any electrical items used at Seaton Holme must have an in-date and valid PAT testing certificate. Evidence of this must be provided prior to the event.
INSURANCE & RISK ASSESSMENT
Hirers are to note that they must have valid and in-date Public Liability Insurance (Minimum of £3 Million cover) to cover their activities while at Seaton Holme. Evidence of this must be provided to the Clerk prior to the Event. Similarly, hirers are responsible for completing their own risk assessment and a copy of this must be provided prior to the event.
KITCHEN FACILITIES
Kitchen facilities be used but must be left in a clean and tidy condition. Hirers are responsible for providing their own tea / coffee etc.
ALCOHOL
Alcohol is not permitted on the premises.
NAKED FLAMES / CANDLES
Naked flames and candles must not be used anywhere within Seaton Holme due to the sensitivity of the fire alarm system.
PASSIVE INVESTIGATION ONLY
The use of ouja boards or holding seances is expressly prohibited. All investigations must be passive only. The use of electronic equipment is approved.
SETTING UP / CLEARING UP
Setting up time must be taken within the overall time allocated. On leaving, all doors must be closed, lights switched off and everything left as it was at the start of the investigation.
BOND ON BOOKING
A deposit of £100 secures the booking and the balance to be paid one month before the event.
CANCELLATION
If a cancellation is required over one month before the event the full deposit will be returned to the hirer. The deposit is forfeited if there is a cancellation within one month of the event.
AMENDMENTS
Easington Village Parish council reserve the right to change or amend these conditions at any time as a matter of improved service. This will not affect bookings already agreed.
ACCEPTANCE
On signing, the hirer agrees to abide by these conditions and instructions, and further agrees to report all damages and breakages to the Parish Council as soon as is practicably possible.
